Ways To Increase Adsense Earnings

Adsense contributes quite a sizeable source of  advertising income for most people who use them on their sites or blogs. Many people also try to target high paying keywords in order to increase the advertising income that they get since Adsense pays different amounts for different ads.  You might even have tried to employ one of those methods of finding high paying keywords and writing content about that hoping that somehow that will increase your adsense earnings.  But very often, it is not simple as that.

So what might be wrong?

Having pages or content with these supposed high paying keywords is one thing. But driving visitors to those pages is another matter and often the factor that is lacking.  If the number of clicks on your ads is a function of the number of page impressions.  The number of page impressions is dependent on the number of visitors that you get.  To get more clicks, you need to increase your page impressions.

Assuming that you get a fixed number of visitors every day to your site, is there a way to improve the page impression?  Yes, there is.    It is really about making your site more user friendly.  And that includes having some form of site navigation that will get readers to the page that you want them to go to.

Try to picture your site and even navigate your own site.  How will you use your site if you were a visitor?  Which links would you click on?  Having links around your site helps.  This helps to link the various pages together such that traffic flows from one site to another or from one post to another.  LinkWithin is something that I have used on various of my sites.  My page impressions literally doubled just by using it.  This has also helped to increase my adsense earnings.

Another method that I have used to great effect is ad placement and also the colours for the ads.  Basically, I try to put ads at the top and right hand side of the site.  This works best for me.  The colours are also "merged" with the rest of the site so that it is colour coordinated and does not stand out too much.

Adsense Earnings Stagnates

My adsense earnings have been stagnating for the longest time. For the past half a year or so, there has neither been a decrease or increase in my earnings.

Interestingly, some sites which I have not bothered updating are actually the ones that are giving me the regular stream of income. While others which I have been updating frequently are not as "productive". Perhaps the strategy I am using is wrong.

There is one particular site that I own which apparently gets the same number of visitors for the past 3 months even though I have not updated it at all!

After all, I have heard people talk about being passionate in what you do. And I guess that motivated me to throw away all the keyword research and SEO that I have been doing in the past. All the keyword research and SEO that I did in the past are probably what got me to where I am today.

I think I need to work smarter to make my adsense earnings go up.

How To Earn $10 A Day From Adsense

A long time ago, I set myself the goal of earning $1 per day from adsense. I have already achieved a certain level of success as my average earnings per month range from $30 to $60 per month. This is quite a formidable feat for me considering that I am only using adsense on my blogs.

What seemed like a long and tedious journey slowly bore fruit as I saw my page impressions increase. So did the number of unique visitors visiting my site. And of course, there was this sheer joy of seeing the pagerank of my sites increase.

With the hurdle of the $1 per day finally cleared, I decided to set the goal of earning $10 per day (or even $100 per day) for this year.

Here are my thoughts on how one might go about earning $10 per day from Adsense:

1. Increase blogging frequency
2. Increase the number of blogs
3. Comment on other people's blogs
4. Link Exchange
5. Search Engine Optimisation & Keyword research

I believe that if I can carry out this 5 steps faithfully, it will be possible to earn $10 a day just from Adsense alone. Maintaining the earnings will however be a different matter altogether as the number of blogs that I have to create will be quite a lot. I estimate that a good 20 to 30 blogs of a certain quality will be necessary. On the otherhand, I could put all my eggs in one basket and hope that one of my blogs will have a much higher number of readers, page impressions and clicks. This is of course a more sustainable strategy but which will also require more effort on my part.

What is Click Through Rate?

In Google adsense lingo or jargon, the click through rate means the number of clicks you get divided by the number of page impressions.

CTR = No. of clicks / No. of page impressions. (Cool formula eh?)

So the CTR (or click through rate) is dependent on two variables. The number of clicks that you get on a particular site and the no. page impressions. The number of page impressions are simply the no. of pages that have been viewed by visitors.

It is widely agreed amongst various expert bloggers that the CTR for most sites should be around 1.5% though this figure can vary on certain days. But in the long run, you can expect a click through rate of 1.5%.

What this means is that out of every 100 page impressions, you can expect 1.5 clicks. (Of course, there is no such thing as 0.5 or half a click)

If you detect that your CTR is very low (i.e. lower than 1.5%), it means that you might need to remedy certain things in terms of ad placement, color or even size of the ads. Changing these might help to improve your CTR.

On the other hand, if you have a very high CTR, do not be happy too soon. What it means is that people are actually leaving your site before they have read all your marvelous content. Do you really want that to happen?

The desired click through rate for most sites should be at 1.5% . Any lower and you should do carry out some modifications to your ads. Any higher, be happy but also monitor it closely to ensure that no click fraud is taking place.

How To Earn $1 A Day From Adsense

I have been earning $1 per day from Adsense (and sometimes even more) quite consistently over the past few months. How did I do it?

Firstly, I started updating my sites alot more regularly and frequently.

Secondly, I tried to include quality content over just mere quantity.

Thirdly, I increased the number of sites that I own.

This 3 simple steps were what it took to get me from $0 adsense earnings to a steady $1 per day in adsense earnings. It definitely was not an easy process.

Some experts view that each of their posting is worth in terms of thousands of dollars. For me, I think each of my posting is worth tens of dollars. It is like building up a huge database of articles so that when the time comes for my blog to receive the huge amount of traffic that Google will direct to me, the blog will be able to convert many of these visitors into regular readers.

SHARING MY EXPERIENCE ABOUT ONE BLOG

I have a blog about financial freedom here (http://sgfinancialfreedom.blogspot.com)

When I first started this blog, it had only 5 to 10 visitors a week. Sometimes, maybe only 5 to 10 unique visitors in a month. Did I give up? No!

I continued to add content even though no one was reading it. I continued to improve upon the site and slowly, the readers started to pour in. I now see the benefits of my previous postings as readers are bound to read more than 1 posts per visit (well, at least most readers).

So with 1 reader, I can get around 2 to 3 page impressions. As you will most probably know by now, increased page impressions leads to a greater likelihood that someone clicks on the ads that you have.

The thing about earning money from adsense is to never give up. Even when it seems like nothing is working. Keep trying and one day the money will come.

Adsense for Search

Many people often neglect the potential adsense earnings that can come from having a search toolbar in your website.

Google allows you to earn money by incorporating a websearch toolbar into your site and you earn money from the clicks on ads that appear on the search results page.

Creating this custom search engine is really easy and everyone should incorporate it into their sites especially if there is lot of content that readers will most probably need a search tool to look for articles of interest.

Three Reasons to use Adsense for Search

1. You give your readers a means to search for related content on your site all throughout the WWW. This makes for an overall better reading and browsing experience for visitors to your site.

2. You earn money from clicks on the ads that appear on the search result pages.

3. You keep users on your site. Very often, if users are not finding what they expect to find on a webpage, they are likely to search for it further or simply leave the site. You want to provide the reader with a useful tool that will keep them at your site longer. Even if it is just for 10 seconds more!

2 Best Tips to Improve Adsense Earnings

I have read many tips on how one can increase their Google's adsense earnings. Frankly, I have not implemented all of them. But I have tried quite a few techniques and I must say that there are a few things one can certainly do to boost their earnings.

Today, I will share two simple tips which WORKED for me.

1. Large Rectangle ad is the one that has worked best for me thus far. I hated the way it looks as I felt that it took up too much space. I have toggled with it many times and realised that everytime I swapped the Large Rectangle ads for half banners or even full banners, my earnings would drop significantly. Another thing to note is to blend the colors of your ads with those of your blog.

2. Blog regularly. Notice I use the word regularly and NOT frequently. Give people an idea of how often they should visit your site for updates. This should help you to retain existing viewers while attracting new viewers. The key is to make sure that the content on your site is always updated and refreshed so that people will read the information on it. This will help increase your traffic and hopefully pageviews. With an increase in traffic, your adsense earnings can only improve.

So there you have it, two simple tips that have worked for me. Hope to hear success stories soon!

Personal Tips to Earn $1 Per day from Adsense

I have decided to give my very own tips on how you might be able to break the zero dollar barrier and start earning around $1 per day from your blogs. For info, my blogs are so personal that friends and family don't even know it exists. So a large amount of visitors I get are complete strangers off the internet.

1. Don't give up. Blogging takes a long time to become rewarding. To earn the first dollar is probably the hardest. Just keep going at it and keep posting unique content so that readers who stumble upon your blog will find things that they enjoy reading. For a starting blog, you must post minimally once a day until you hit around 300 postings.

2. Drive traffic to your blog. Comment on other people's blogs. It is best that your niche are similar areas. You can also request for a link exchange. Comment on forums too as that might help drive people to your blog. Without traffic to your blog, you will have little page impressions and thus little clicks. With little clicks, you will have little earnings. On the other hand, even if you have managed to drive a huge amount of traffic to your blog but your content is not unique or interesting enough, the bounce rate will be very high where people will just scan through your site, find nothing interesting and leave FOREVER.

3. Blend your ads to match your blog colors. I always try to make sure that my adsense ads are blended in with my background colors so that they do not stand out too obvious. I like to use large rectangles as they work best for me.

4. Who Are you writing to? Always ask this question to yourself... who is reading your postings. Is it a local or a foreigner? Is it a guy or a girl? Tweak your postings and writing style to fit your audience.

5. Break All The Rules. There are no rules to blogging. What makes a blog good is not the design or keywords used. It is actually the person behind the blog who makes all the difference. Let your personality shine through your writings and don't write too formally. Tell your readers some personal stories about yourself which they can relate to.

7 Adsense Tips to Increase Adsense Earnings

I found this article on GoArticles. It details how one can put in place 7 Adsense tips to increase their adsense earnings.

1. Unique Content - Fill your site with unique hand written content so that it ranks better in the search engines resulting in more traffic to your website and more dollars per month as a result of those visitors from organic listings.

2. Ad Blocks - Use a 336 x 280 or 250 x 250 ad block - Use this Adsense ad block above the fold as this is an area of prime real estate on your website where the lions share of the money is to be found.

3. Blend Your Ads - Get rid of that green that screams out "I am an ad" and change the colours so the ads on your site look more natural to your visitors. This isn't about deceiving your visitors, it's about displaying ads within the TOS as outlined. Doing this will increase your overall CTR ( Click Through Rate ).

4. High Paying Niche - Target a high paying niche that contains a good number of competing advertisers that are willing to spend money. There's little point in trying to monetize a site that targets a low paying niche with very little advertiser interest or filled with advertisers that aren't spending very much.

5. Other Affiliate Programs - Give your visitor something more than just Adsense on your site or it will be deemed to be MFA ( Made for Adsense ). Adding another form of monetization on your site will not only give your visitors more options, it will also potentially make you more money.

6. 2 Ad Blocks Maximum - Although you can use more than 2 ad blocks on your site we don't recommend it. This is because it starts to make your site look spammy and it also means you will also be displaying some lower paying ads on your site. In our opinion, less is more when it comes to ad blocks.

7. Track Your Stats - Find out which pages are getting traffic and where that traffic is coming from. By doing this you can concentrate on doing more of what is working to make you even more money from your websites.

I hope you have enjoyed these Google Adsense tips. Even more importantly make sure you put them to work so you can increase your monthly pay check and make more money online
